Him: Dunbar ‘going native’ is the realisation that he didn’t know who he was and was looking for something, himself as the Sioux named Dances with Wolves, it was who he was meant to be all along.

Him: Moments like Dunbar doing the civil war suicide ride on Sisko, keeping a journal, playing with Two Socks, befriending Wind in his Hair touched my heart. Roger Ebert said it was the first Western film to use Native American language and depict Indian culture as sophisticated. Another way of living, in some ways better, brighter.
