Director: Hayao Miyazaki
Feel
Her: Miyazaki's animation style gives me goosebumps from time to time. The moral behind this imagined, spiritual story is universal an can relates to so many real historical events and characters. For that reason I felt daunted but also weirdly comforted at the same time. The characters are ambiguous and just as everything - have dual nature. Spirits can be harmless and overall cute - yet appear creepy sometimes.
Him: I've always loved the idea of Shinto but seeing it represented in studio ghibli was confusing the more I discussed it with Vika the more straight forward it appeared to me like the animals and characters as metaphors for mistakes and the story being inevitable. More please.
